A dragonfly-lover myself, this playful and hip 1st birthday invite was a blast to do. Printing was done by Emma’s mom through vistaprint.com, a very reasonable option for quick and ephemeral work.

Pro-bono work for a great organization

For over fifteen years, the Women’s Lunch Place, a Boston-based daytime community for poor and homeless women and their children, has sold Mother’s Day cards which highlight original artwork created by one of the guests during a Creative Expressions class. This year, the organization was lucky enough to set up a kiosk in the famed Prudential Center. I was more than happy to lend a helping hand and create the applicable kiosk and corridor signage. Good friends Steve Morrison and Heidi Schimke are tying the knot in October and have enlisted my help for their wedding stationery…step 1: Save the Dates. The happy couple wanted something simple and unique – not ‘themey’, just reflective of who they are as a couple. After the design was set, Heidi and Steve were introduced to the beautiful world of The Paper Source where they excitedly selected their own paper elements with just a few guidelines from me. The result is an earthy, elegant Save the Date with elements that hold great meaning to the couple and their lives.

After printing out 50 invites asking people to attend a shower in January of 2009 (oops!) and a quick trip back to The Paper Source, I’m pretty stoked about these recently finished baby shower invites for my near and dear friend, Lauren. Each invite is just slightly different as I used a mix of print and cut-paper elements. If you know anyone in need of their own unique invites, drop me a line!
